Servicios de Caracterización


El grupo se dedica a la detección y emisión de radiación de terahercios a temperatura ambiente mediante el uso de transistores de tamaño submicrométrico y la caracterización de células solares (IV, CV, eficiencia cuántica …). El grupo dispone de diferentes equipos enumerados:

  • Espectrometero FTIR: Vertex 70v Rango: 8000 a 350 cm^‐1 (10-­240 THz) , Resolución: 0.16 cm^­‐1 (4.8GHz)
  • Bolómetro  de Silicio de ala prestación (4K): 600 to 10 cm^‐1 (0.3­‐18 THz)
  • Sistema de espectrosocpia en el dominio de tiempo (TDS-­‐THz) rango: 0.2-­‐3THz
  • Sistema de generación de imagenes en el rango 0.15 a 0.6 THz
  • Sistemas de detección de radiación de THz de 4 a 300K
  • Estación de puntas: Cascade PureLine/MicroChamber 11000B
  • Semiconductor Device Analyzer Keysight B1500 (4 SMUs, C‐V and transient units)
  • Simulador Solar con diferentes filtros.
  • Fuente de THz – RPG: 0.15 y 0.3 THz
  • Fuente de THz – TeraShottky: 0.075-0.6 THz
  • Fuente de láseres a Cascada Cuántica – TeraCascade: 2-5 THz

The laboratory of RF devices is dedicated to the characterization of semiconductor materials and sub-­‐micrometer devices up to microwave frequencies. Our tools allow performing several kinds of on­‐wafer measurements from DC and pulsed characterization, to RF and electronic noise (up to 43.5 GHz).

  • Cascade M150 probe station
  • Keithley 4200‐ SCS parameter analyzer with the ultrafast I‐V module Keithley 4225 allowing to perform pulsed measurements
  • Tektronix RSA5126A Real Time Signal Analyzer 1 Hz-­‐26.5 GHz
    (with 110 MHz acquisition BW)
  • VNA Agilent N5244A PNA­‐X with low noise receivers (option 029) for RF and noise characterization up to 43.5 GHz
  • Cryogenic Probe Stations LakShore: on-wafer DC, RF, or microwave measurements at temperatures as low as 10 K under vacuum and in fields up to 2 T  with up to 6 probe arms.


We investigate fundamental and applied aspects of quantum nanodevices based on new materials as graphene and 2D related materials, topological insulators and III-V semiconductor heterostructures. Our 100% cryofree low-temperatures laboratory allows full transport and magnetotransport characterization of quantum Nanodevices from 10 miliKelvin to room temperature at high magnetic fields.

We prepare and characterize new materials such as metal nanoparticles,
Quantum dots and graphene derivatives in solution and deposited onto solids.

  • Raman UV-­‐VIS-­‐NIR: LabRam HR Evolution. Laser sources: 532 nm 100 mW, 633 nm 17mW, range 770 ­‐ 795 nm > 200 mW
  • Langmuir-­‐Blodgett (KSV2000 System 2) to Fabricate and characterize
    monomolecular films with precise control of lateral packing density
  • Brewster Angle Microscopy (Optrel BAM 3000) Visualization of Langmuir monolayers or adsorbate films at the air-­‐water interface
  • Kelvin probe (KSV SPOT1) It allows determining Composition, Dissociation degree, Orientation and Interaction in Langmuir monolayers
  • Quartz Crystal Microbalance (Q-­‐sense E1). Mass changes and interactions occurring at surfaces. Surface rheology of surface bound materials.
  • Malvern Zetasizer Nano ZS to determine Molecular size, molecular weight, Particle size, Zeta potential
  • Drop (Lauda TVT 2) and maximum bubble pressure tensiometers
    (Lauda MPT2) to measure equilibrium and dynamic surface tension (from 1 ms)
